Word of the Day. Empowered.
I'm going to preface this post by saying I'm sorry it has been awhile since we have posted. My family came in town last weekend and I am saving that post for later in the week due to it's length and taking the time to do it justice. As for today I (Morgan) thought it was past time to go on a lengthy run with no agenda or place to be, especially since it was a beautiful (yet chilly morning). I made my way down 49th St from our apartment down to the end of 12th Avenue to the Hudson. Little did I know there was a Norwegian cruise ship dock a few blocks from our apartment, O the things you learn when you venture outside alone. The view was to die for the whole way along side the Hudson with Lil wayne and the Step Up soundtrack blaring in my Ipod. I made my way all the way up the side of the city along the water to 96th Street before I turned around. I passed numerous T ball parks and soccer games with proud parents cheering on their kids. This run made me fall in love with the city and I felt free. Free of all the honking horns, hustle and bustle, and obligations of every day life. I came upon a long pier that stretched out onto the water over looking the city. When I made it to the very end and looked back over the city there was no other word to describe my feelings then the word Empowered. Empowered knowing I was in this huge city alone, living out a dream and knowing I am exactly where I'm suppose to be at this time in my life. The lord is working through this experience and I am at peace and grateful for where I am right this moment. Enjoying my last few weeks here with my sweet friend SB and making life long memories. Life is Good.

Well for the rest of our day we plan on getting in the holiday spirit by stopping by all the holiday window displays in town. Were heading out now to visit one of our friends at Bloomingdales and enjoy the rest of this beautiful day.
As for this past week we have been crazy. The city is gearing up for the holiday season and that means French Connection has to as well. Sb stayed pretty busy on the computer placing orders and hanging out with Londa. I had a mid summer meeting with Lord & Taylor Tuesday before Kate headed to Chicago for the rest of the week. I also took a trip to White Plains, NY yesterday via train to merchandise the floor at Bloomingdales before Black Friday hits. Everyone in the office is pretty much taking vacations next week and planning how they will be spending their holiday. As for SB and myself we will be heading out to Washington D.C Tuesday morning on a 7AM flight. My sweet friend Christy from Ole MIss (I met at Ozark) offered for us to come visit and spend a few days with her and her precious family for Thanksgiving. We are beyond excited to take a mini vaca and visit a new city. Her brother is a Secret Service agent, so a trip to the White House is in our future. We can hardly wait!!! We will return to the city Saturday morning just in time for the IRON BOWL!!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
(My Family Visit post to come soon)
XOXO-MC&SB
