Tis The Season... To Have Fun.

Since these past few days were our last days in the city we decide to do a little bit of everything. Sarabeth's mom was here and Christy got in on Sunday morning so we called our sweet friend Schaffer and headed out to conquer the rest of the city. We took the subway down to Little Italy and managed to stumble upon an amazing Italian restaurant for a late lunch. We stuffed our faces and enjoyed the company before heading into the streets of China Town to grab our last few fake "Must Have's" (some Tory Burch, Michael Kors, and scarfs). We heard about the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir being amazing and just happening to be having their annual Christmas show that afternoon, so we headed to Brooklyn for some festive holiday joy!! Much to our dismay it was not as fabulous as we had all hoped, 3 hours later and some 20 minute prayers and we were all exhausted and ready to dip out of that service early... so thats exactly what we did.

Monday rolled around and Mrs. Sally headed back to Mobile leaving us girls to dominate the remainder of the city. We grabbed brunch at Grey Dog in Chelsea(a classic Morgan/Sarabeth breakfast spot that will be dearly missed). We stopped by Kleinfelds so Christy could see the store and all its glory. We did some shopping in Bryant park and made a stop at Dylan's Candy Bar. Obviously being so close to a Crumbs we stopped in there too... I'm obsessed with their cupcakes it's my guilty pleasure (on a daily basis).

After a LONG Monday we were headed back to our cozy apartment when suddenly I realized we were walking on a red carpet. We stumbled upon the Red Carpet event for the new Movie "We Bought a Zoo" a few block from our apartment. Living in New York certainly has it's cool factor on days like this.

Pretty sure the main thing we do when we're together is take pictures the whole time.. here are a few more.

We took a walk to the Central Park Reservoir Tuesday morning and managed to take a few more pictures. The view is to die for and pictures don't even do it justice.  This is definitely a view I will miss seeing on cold morning runs.

On our way to ice skate last night we decide to take a scenic route down past all the decorations and snap a few last photos for the day.

Things got interesting when we heard a band strike up and before we knew it Christy took off in full sprint to the direction of the noise. We managed to score front row at a Trace Atkins concert on 6th Ave (pre filming for New Years Eve Show, watch NBC you'll see us) We stayed an hour and sang out hearts out to "Fishing" & "Honky Tonk Ba Donka Donk" since none of the northerners knew the words we gladly sang along.

Clearly you can't come to New York and not make a fool of yourself ice skating so we opted to participate. We surprisingly picked up on our childhood skate skills fairly quickly. No one busted it and  fun was had by all!!

We finished off the night with a movie. We chose "New Years Eve" and picked a theatre in the heart of Time Square. It was fabulous!!

As of this moment Christy has flown back home leaving me and Sb to finish our packing.  We have already "checked in" for our flight in the morning, called for a taxi to pick us up, and we'll be having our good bye dinner with Schaffer and the guys in a few hours at Shake Shack. Our New York City trip is officially ova. Amazing memories have been made, lessons learned, new friends made, and the two of us can now say we have now conquered New York City.

-one more FINAL post to come soon-

Love you all XOXO MC&SB

A Happier Place During the Holidays.

BEFORE..
AFTER!

So we have decided that the whole city looks happier during the holidays thats for sure.

The Castle on Madison's Tree

Sb and I have made a hobby out of wandering around the city and stalking all the decorations over the past few weeks. It is definitely one of my favorite parts about the city during the holidays. All the major department stores spend thousands of dollars and numerous hours preparing for their holiday window displays. We have documented some of our favorites and decided.... Bergdorf got the "Most Creative/Intricate"  award while L&T had the "Most festive/ Kid Friendly" windows, Saks was lacking this year we weren't fans of their windows at all. You can decide for yourself so here they are....

So as of today were spending the day with Christy ice skating, taking hundreds of pictures and taking in the city before we fly out in 42 short hours. Our apartment is starting to look very bare and reality is setting in were heading back to Alabama very soon. We have had to say goodbye to some of our new friends over the past few days and finished up our last day at work on Friday. It was definitely a little bittersweet.
