Christmas Came Early.

Let it Snow.

House in Brooklyn this weekend

This weekend we all felt as if Christmas came early to the city. Our Saturday morning started early. We prepared for the cold day ahead of us putting layers upon layers on and umbrellas in hand to brave the weather. We knew it was suppose to be a rainy day but had no idea what we were about to be outside in for the next 8 hours. We headed out towards Brooklyn around 10 ready for a fun day with the twins.
My boss lives in Brooklyn and told me about a few vintage places as well as a flea market we figured we would try out (especially since none of us have ever been to Brooklyn, why not?). SB and I actually have come a long way with our traveling
skills, we made it all the way to Brooklyn and to the location of the "Brooklyn Flea" to discover due to the torrential down pour we were walking around in, it had been CANCELED. So we put on our big girl pants and resorted too plan B, "Beacon's Closet". It is a vintage designer store tucked away in Brooklyn on 11th Street. For me it was pure heaven, you all know I love vintage/odd/romper/nothing anyone else likes kind of stuff, so of course we rummaged through all of it and all came out successful. SB got some purses, I got some vintage clothes and the twins got a pretty awesome necklace as well as some clothes. When we headed back out to the streets of Brooklyn the snow really started falling and the streets were becoming slippery. Our feet were wet and our hands were cold but we pushed through to finish out our day. We took the "L" train back over to Manhattan to take the twins to see the World Trade Center memorial and Century 21. They are rebuilding the WTC and are now half way up the 109th floor. After our 2 hour visit to Century 21 and a few bags later we headed out again into the snow for the Twins' first China Town experience.
We were on a mission for the twins to find Longchamp & Tory Burch.  We found both, plus Michael Kors watches & purses as well as Rolex. Over all China Town was very successful and the twins came out happy and super stylish with some new purchases. We decided to call it a night after our adventure in China town and 8 hours of snow and wet feet. We came home, ordered Chinese rented a movie and baked cookies. It was a perfect ending to an amazing weekend with our sweet friends.
Hope Your weekend was a safe & fun one as well!!

Finally, They are Here!

This week has been a very dreary rainy one here in the city. Not much going on at work really just the usual Lord & Taylor/ Macy's visits, preparing for line appointments, and computer work for Sarabeth. It has been the first week that we actually needed to wear scarves for warmth not looks and been able to wear heavy jackets!! Regardless of the rain all week we have been able to  look forward to some of our sweet friends coming to visit us during Alabama's Fall Break. We have seriously missed our friends and family so having them here for a few days makes us feel more at home. Kelley arrived on Wednesday night and we quickly reunited picking up right were we left off 3 weeks ago before we left. We stayed at our apartment catching up in our living room, pilled up on the couch laughing and swapping stories till midnight!! We have missed our "Baby Nugget Kell" so much. So after a month of much discussion and planning Casey, Courtney, and Brooke finally arrived yesterday!! I (Morgan) got off work around 5 to meet them in the lobby of our apartment, it was beyond exciting to see the twins taxi pull up and see brooke walk in the front door!! We waited for SB to get off work and headed to dinner down the street at The West Side End Grill (corner of 8th Ave and 49th St). The food was amazing (or maybe it was the friends and conversation) but never the less we had so much fun. Dinner ended and we headed out on the town to attempt to be tour guides. We went to Time Square, Bryant Park, and H&M!! Since we did have work this morning we called it a night around 11 and headed towards home. Kell headed to her hotel with her dad, Brooke took the train to her friends house, and the twins joined us in our humble abode for some much needed sleep. Might I add how VERY proud we are of all the girls, they all have been roaming around the city all day today shopping, site seeing, and eating like New York City pro's while we were at work!!! It is now on to the weekend and we can't wait for some quality time in the city with Casey and Courtney. We have tons planned as well as snow on the way-- pictures and stories from the rest of our weekend will be posted on Sunday!!

Have an amazing weekend!!

& So We Meet Again..

It's Been Awhile. So Buckle Up.
Get Ready for Some Updates.

View from the roof top of the MET on Saturday

Sorry it has been a while since we last talked! We have lots to catch up on :) So lets start with work...Morgan has been in and out of the office all week. She has been in the stores working with displays and presentations, loving her boss, and learning tons! She was in charge of pulling pieces to sell for the "Friends and Family Event" in April for Macy's. As for myself, this has been the longest week of my life! Me and Londa are still pretty tight and continue to spend lots of time with each other.  We pretty much eat at the same amazing bakery everyday at 1:00 sharp and have discovered a new pasta dish and will probably eat it for the rest of the week.

After work on Tuesday, Morgan waited in a super long line for a Tahari sample sell.  It was just like you would imagine...girls lined up for miles around the block and complete chaos inside with racks and racks of clothes thrown everywhere.  She came out disappointed, but don't worry when she walked through the door she had bags in her hands! She conquered 5th to make up for it. Sad I missed out on that shopping experience.  I chose to hold down the fort at home, exhausted from a long day.

We made it through another work week and on to the much needed weekend!!  We started our weekend off by going shopping right after we got off work.  But don't judge, Morgan got us an amazing 25% off the whole Lord and Taylor store since she does business there on the reg.  It was a mad house and we got super frustrated with the crowd; however, we seemed to come out with some worth while purchases. I got an amazing pair of flats and this is the FIRST leopard print I own. I am now officially in style. I can't forget to mention my lovely new gold Michael Kors watch, apparently Morgan is rubbing off on me! As for Morgan she finally purchased her Minnetonka boots she has been talking about for the past year.

 Lord & Taylor Sale

It's Saturday here in New York...

Upper East Side

While walking to the MET we discovered how peaceful and beautiful the Upper East Side is.  This is definitely where I would want to raise my kids! It is soo homey and quaint. There were kids coming home from soccer games, mom's out for walks, and lonely sidewalks with no hustle and bustle.

This place is HUGE!! I am not the biggest fan of museums but I thoroughly enjoyed going to the MET.  Who knew we would learn something educational while we lived here!  We met the sweetest elderly man named Arthur who gave us a quick low down on the best exhibits to see. He also gave us words of wisdom for living in the city. When we walked away we both said to each other how we felt like he was our grandfather....basically he was just precious!!  Our favorite exhibit was Egypt. There were so many interesting things to see. Morgan was fascinated with the mummies and I loved looking at all the unique jewelry.  One of the things Arthur told us to do was take a trip to the roof top. Boy was he right, the view was to die for! The MET is located in the middle of Central Park, surrounded by the city on all sides. goregous.

 Sunday Brunch

We tried a new place close to home, Stecchino for brunch.  I ate french toast, wasn't that great and Morgan had an omelet. We have been extremely lazy today but managed to bake some peanut butter cookies and do some laundry to wrap up a long weekend! It is finally getting chilly here in the city and we plan on making homemade soup and hot chocolate this week.  Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend! We will post sooner rather than later next time! Love and miss yall :)

Cheers to the Weekend...

pretty much sums up our first weekend in NYC

OUR FIRST WEEKEND:

Our weekend didn't officially start till around 6 O'clock Friday night when we got off work! We wondered down the rainy streets of NY to 34th street to grab some Five Guys Burgers & Fries before our 7:30 Movie premier of FOOTLOOSE... O yes it was beyond fabulous and we desperately wanted to dance down the streets towards home after!! We decided sleep was necessary for us to function on Saturday so we slept in not feeling a bit guilty. Once we finally got moving the only thing on our agenda was S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G. We headed towards Union Square for the rest of the day. We stumbled upon this cute little fresh market from the pictures above and then some amazing shopping. We started at Feline's Basement--> DSW--> Shoe Mania--> Nordstrom Rack--> and finished at Strawberry.. boy were we exhausted but had to regroup fast. We threw our bags in our apartment and headed out to the Ainsworth bar to cheer on the Tide!! We met up with 10 other girls from UA and had an absolute blast. The Ainsworth is a UA alum bar in New York so everyone had shakers in hand and knew the lyrics to "Yea ALabama" and "Rammer Jammer" we fit right in!! Look who we stumbled upon for those of you AXO's reading.......

REGAN!!

It was so good to catch up with old friends and eat great food!!!

WELL Sunday should be a day of rest and ours turned out to be the complete opposite. We thought we woke up in time to make our 11:30 brunch reservation at the Essex House (from Sex & the City)Swanky, we know...but turns out we were 30 minutes late and sat on the subway for 45 minutes prior. Supposedly the subways don't run as frequently on the weekends... it's TRUE. We did eventually make it and it was heaven on earth. The french toast with bananna foster and mimosas were a great way to start our day!

After indulging at Essex we decided to walk it off across the island. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge... really just 1/2 way. We got hot and I got whiny but it was still the most amazing view and we are so glad it turned out to be a beautiful day!

After the walk to Brooklyn we decided we needed some R&R so off to Central Park we went (after our stop at Bloomingdales.. we have a problem, we're aware of it) Central park was full of life since it was gorgeous outside, not only was there tons of puppies and birds but also a pigeon who decided to share some love with SB. HA it was the highlight of my day!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, we miss you all!!
